    • Ayurveda Therapies
    • Synovial Tissue becomes inflamed. The RA is characterized by inflammation ofthe synovial fluid. The inflammation of synovial tissue causes pain, stiffness and swelling in joints. This is called synovitis.
    • Pannus tissue forms. Inflammation in the tissue causes the cells to divide and multiply causing the synovial tissue to thicken resulting in swelling and pain. As cell division continues cell growth expands to the joint space. This is termed as pannus or rheumatoid pannus.
    • Cartilage and other joint tissues damaged by accident or other activities. The pannuscells release enzymes that damage the cartilage and underlying bone. The damage alters or can alter the alignments, leading to further pain anddeformities.
