Arthritis types vary from organ to organ. The main disease falls into two common types, degenerative arthritis like osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Most of the common symptoms that arise are pain, stiffness and swelling in joints.
Detailed Arthritis Symptoms Joints pain can be a result of injury affecting ligaments, bursae or tendons surrounding the joint. The injury can lead to damage to ligaments, cartilage and bone joints. Common symptoms include:
RA is a chronic auto immune disease that causes the body’s immune system to attack its own tissues including the delicate tissues that encapsulate most joints. The disease normally affects the wrists, knuckles, balls
of the feet and or knees but can affect any joint in the body.
The RA progress over time and the disease shows the following :
The RA is characterized by inflammation of the synovial fluid. The inflammation of synovial tissue causes pain, stiffness and swelling in joints. This is called synovitis.
Inflammation in the tissue causes the cells to divide and multiply causing the synovial tissue to thicken resulting in swelling and pain. As cell division continues cell growth expands to the joint space. This termed as pannus or rheumatoid pannus.
The pannus cells release enzymes that damage the cartilage and underlying bone. The damage alters or can alter the alignments, leading to further pain and deformities
